Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, has indicated that Pakistan would be willing to contribute troops to a proposed international “peace-keeping” or “stabilisation” force for Gaza — but he made it clear that Pakistani forces will not take part in disarming Hamas.
During a news briefing in Islamabad, Dar said Islamabad supports efforts to restore security and humanitarian aid in Gaza, but rejected any plan that assigns Pakistani troops a mandate to disarm Hamas fighters.
He noted that Pakistan advocates for any stabilisation mission to operate under an internationally agreed mandate, ideally under a recognised multilateral or UN framework — emphasising that Pakistan will not be complicit in actions seen as taking sides or undermining Palestinian leadership.
Pakistan’s potential participation is under consideration, as part of a broader group of nations evaluating contribution to the proposed International Stabilization Force (ISF) for Gaza — yet Islamabad remains cautious about any role that might be interpreted as enforcing disarmament.
