Arshad Nadeem is greeted heroically upon his return to Pakistan

Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s outstanding athlete, was greeted warmly upon his return from the Paris Olympics, where he won the gold medal in the javelin throw.

According to reports, Arshad arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport in the early hours of Sunday and was met by Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif.

Arshad is joined by the Chairman of South Asian Athletics, Muhammad Akram Sahi, and his coach, Salman Butt.

Earlier today, President Asif Ali Zardari authorized the awarding of the Hilal-e-Imtiaz to star athlete Arshad Nadeem for his outstanding achievement in the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024.

“The President will present Arshad Nadeem with the civic award during a special event to honor his outstanding athletic accomplishment. On Saturday, the President Secretariat Press Wing issued a press release announcing that the civic prize will be conferred under Article 259 (2) of the Constitution.

According to the constitution, the president has the authority to bestow civil prizes on Pakistani citizens in acknowledgment of their outstanding contributions in many disciplines.

Following the President’s direction, the Aiwan-e-Sadr sent a letter to the Cabinet Division in this respect.

President Zardari stated that Arshad Nadeem’s outstanding achievement had made the nation proud in the world of sports.

Arshad Nadeem became Pakistan’s first individual Olympic gold champion.

The top javelin thrower failed to make a mark in his first effort in the first stage, but he made a miraculous recovery with 92.97m in his second attempt, a new Olympic record that was finally enough to clinch the gold medal at the Paris Games. – supernews.pk
