WhatsApp Web voice and video group calls

WhatsApp is developing a major enhancement for WhatsApp Web that will enable voice and video calling directly from the browser, including support for group calls, according to reports from beta tracking sources. This upcoming feature is intended to bring the web version closer in functionality to WhatsApp’s mobile and desktop apps by allowing users to initiate calls without installing a separate application. Group call support is being refined so participants can join regardless of their device, and preliminary code suggests capacity for calls of up to 32 participants, although this has not been formally confirmed by WhatsApp. Alongside voice and video calls, the web client is expected to gain additional tools such as call links that can be shared from group chats and scheduled calls with notifications and descriptions. The features are still under development, and WhatsApp has not announced a timeline for public release.
