Sri Lanka asks Pakistan to reconsider India match boycott

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has formally requested that **Pakistan reconsider its decision to boycott the scheduled Pakistan–India group match in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, media reports said.

The SLC presidency wrote to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the government of Pakistan, warning that cancelling the high-profile fixture set for February 15 in Colombo could lead to significant financial losses and negatively affect the tournament’s global appeal. The letter emphasised that playing the match would benefit global cricket and commercial interests, and urged Pakistan to review its stance ahead of the event.
