The Pakistan national cricket team will resume their ODI series against Sri Lanka national cricket team today in Rawalpindi despite heightened security concerns after a suicide bomb blast in Islamabad killed 12 people earlier this week.
Following the bombing, Sri Lanka’s team reportedly sought to depart Pakistan, but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reassured them of their safety with Chairman Mohsin Naqvi visiting the Rawalpindi stadium and promising full protection.
All remaining matches are scheduled to be played at the Rawalpindi venue, as both boards decide to push ahead with the tour.
