PPP voices concern over high petrol prices ahead of Eid

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has expressed concern over the sharp rise in petrol prices ahead of Eid, warning that the increase will add to the financial burden on citizens already struggling with inflation. PPP Member of National Assembly Sharmila Farooqui urged the government to adopt economic policies that provide relief to the public.

In a statement, Farooqui said the Rs55 per litre hike in petrol prices has made daily necessities more expensive and could dampen Eid celebrations for many families. She argued that higher fuel costs directly affect the prices of essential items such as vegetables, flour, and transport.

The PPP leader added that rising petroleum prices place a heavy burden on the common man’s household budget, stressing that economic decisions should consider the real challenges faced by the public. She called on the government to take steps that would provide immediate relief to people during the festive period.
