Well-known social-media figure and survivor Dua Zehra visited the father of a 3-year-old boy, Ibrahim, who drowned after falling into an uncovered manhole in Karachi pledging her support for his drive to secure manhole covers citywide.
Dua Zehra contributed from her own pocket toward the campaign and publicly encouraged others to join the effort, describing it as a “small step” toward preventing further tragedies.
The initiative has gained widespread attention online, with many commending her solidarity and urging civic authorities to ensure permanent infrastructure measures to protect public safety.
