Dwayne Johnson has publicly thanked Brendan Fraser for giving him his big break in Hollywood crediting him with “launching” his acting career.
Johnson recalled that Fraser’s support during the casting of The Mummy Returns (2001) made all the difference. Despite Johnson coming from a wrestling background and having no prior film experience, Fraser welcomed him “with open arms,” a decision that Johnson says changed his life.
According to Johnson, he will “always be in [Fraser’s] corner,” acknowledging that Fraser believed in him and took a risk a gesture Johnson says he’ll respect for life.
