Four Islamabad police officials have been booked in connection with an alleged robbery involving Chinese nationals in the federal capital. The case has raised concerns about police accountability and the safety of residents and foreign nationals living in Islamabad.
Police Officials Accused of Armed Robbery
According to reports, the incident took place on October 18, 2026, at a house in Islamabad’s F-7/1 sector, within the jurisdiction of Kohsar Police Station.
The suspects allegedly wore police uniforms and worked with an accomplice to enter the property. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the group allegedly stole Rs2 million in cash and a mobile phone worth Rs15,000 from a residence occupied by two Chinese nationals.
The FIR states that a man wearing a police uniform approached the servants’ quarters during the early hours of the morning and woke a security guard and a driver. They were subsequently taken back to the property, where armed men allegedly entered the house and held the occupants at gunpoint.
The residents, along with two other individuals, were reportedly confined to a room while the suspects searched the house and took the cash.
CCTV Footage Helped Identify Suspects
Police reportedly used CCTV footage to identify the suspects and subsequently arrested the four officials. A case was registered under Section 395 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with dacoity.
Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and the possible involvement of other individuals. A security guard was also suspected of helping the alleged robbers gain access to the property, according to the FIR.
The allegations against the police officials remain subject to investigation and legal proceedings.
Fourth Robbery Targeting Chinese Nationals Since August
The incident was reported as the fourth home robbery targeting Chinese nationals in Islamabad since August 29, 2026. In previous cases, individuals allegedly disguised themselves as officials to gain access to residential properties.
A separate investigation into a September robbery in the G-10/4 sector reportedly uncovered the alleged involvement of three serving Islamabad police officers in a gang accused of stealing around Rs8 million from Chinese nationals.
These cases have prompted questions about security arrangements for foreign residents and the measures used to prevent criminal activity involving law enforcement personnel.
