KARACHI, October 14, 2026: Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed has revealed important details about the deaths of five members of a family found inside a house in Karachi’s Bin Qasim area. According to the preliminary medical findings, two victims sustained gunshot wounds to the head, while the causes of death of the other three remain undetermined pending laboratory reports.
Two Family Members Died from Gunshot Wounds
Dr Summaiya confirmed that Shahzaib, approximately 35, and his wife Saba, aged between 28 and 30, each sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
Samples have been collected from both victims for gunshot residue testing, chemical analysis and DNA profiling. These examinations are expected to assist investigators in establishing the circumstances of their deaths.
However, the medical findings announced so far do not establish the complete sequence of events or determine whether the incident involved murder, suicide or both.
Causes of Death of Three Victims Await Laboratory Reports
The police surgeon said the causes of death of Shahzaib’s sister, Shumaila, and his daughters, Aizal and Arya, have been reserved until the relevant forensic reports are received.
Shumaila was approximately 20 to 22 years old, while Aizal was five and Arya was three.
Investigators have collected samples for chemical analysis, serology and DNA testing. Police have not yet confirmed the cause of death of the three victims, and any conclusions about possible poisoning remain subject to forensic examination.
Bodies Found Inside a House in Bin Qasim
The five family members were found dead at a residence in a private housing society near Gulshan-e-Hadeed, in Karachi’s Bin Qasim area, during the night between Monday and Tuesday.
Police entered the house after receiving information about the incident. Investigators recovered evidence from the scene, including a handwritten note that reportedly referred to financial difficulties and strained relationships with relatives.
The contents of the note are part of the investigation and have not independently established the cause or circumstances of the deaths.
Police Investigation Continues
Authorities are examining forensic evidence and awaiting laboratory results to establish what happened inside the house. As of October 14, the police surgeon said the available findings had not determined whether the deaths resulted from suicide or murder, and a case had not yet been registered, according to ARY News.
The investigation is expected to rely on medical examinations, laboratory testing and other evidence collected from the residence before officials reach a conclusion.
