KARACHI: Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by around $15 million during the week ended October 2, 2026, reaching $21.4537 billion, according to the latest central bank data.
SBP Reserves Reach $21.45 Billion
The SBP’s foreign exchange reserves stood at $21.4537 billion on October 2, compared with $21.4392 billion a week earlier. The latest increase represents a rise of approximately $14.5 million.
The increase marks another weekly improvement in the central bank’s reserve position as Pakistan continues to strengthen its external liquidity.
Commercial Banks Also See Increase
Foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks rose by $12 million during the same week, reaching $5.3437 billion, according to SBP figures.
This increase in commercial banks’ holdings contributed to an overall rise in the country’s liquid foreign exchange reserves.
Total Foreign Exchange Reserves Reach $26.8 Billion
Pakistan’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves increased to $26.7974 billion as of October 2, up from $26.7709 billion recorded on September 25. This represents a weekly increase of about $26.5 million.

Reserves Continue to Strengthen
The latest figures follow a $39 million increase in SBP reserves during the previous week, when the central bank’s holdings reached $21.4392 billion. Recent reserve gains have also been supported by external inflows, including proceeds from Pakistan’s international borrowing.
The State Bank publishes its liquid foreign exchange reserve position weekly, with data generally released on Thursday for the previous week.
