Four fishermen are reported missing after a merchant vessel collided with their fishing boat off the coast of Karachi on Friday, authorities said. The incident occurred near Manora Beach in the waters of the Karachi Port Trust when the commercial ship struck the smaller vessel, causing it to capsize and forcing all 11 fishermen onboard into the sea.
Police and rescue teams responded promptly, and seven fishermen were pulled from the water by another boat in the area, but search operations continue for the four individuals who remain unaccounted for. Police Chief Syed Asad Raza confirmed that an investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances behind the collision.
The search and rescue efforts involve marine teams, divers, and local authorities working to locate the missing fishermen as operations progress into Friday evening.
