2025 final supermoon

According to SUPARCO, the final Cold Moon — and thus the last Supermoon of 2025 — will be visible across Pakistan on the nights of December 4 and 5.

A supermoon occurs when a full moon coincides with the moon’s closest approach to Earth (perigee), making the moon appear somewhat larger and brighter than usual.

The Cold Moon will rise in Pakistan at around 16:58 PST on December 4, reaching nearly full illumination (about 99.8 %) around 04:15 PST on December 5.

Compared with an average full moon, this supermoon will appear approximately 7.9 % larger and 15 % brighter — a subtle yet notable difference for sky-watchers.

SUPARCO encouraged enthusiasts, families, and the general public to observe the event. No special equipment is needed; a clear sky and an open view toward the eastern horizon at moonrise should be enough for a clear sighting.
