A tragic explosion ripped through an illegal firecracker factory in Hyderabad’s Latifabad area, killing seven people and injuring several others, according to rescue officials.
Authorities say the factory was being run out of a residential house without a licence, raising suspicion of gross safety negligence.
Police confirmed that the owner of the factory is currently on the run, and efforts are underway to arrest him. Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah has ordered a full safety audit of the factory and warned that those responsible will face strict legal action.
