India keeps Pakistan busy two fronts

Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif claimed on Saturday that India is deliberately trying to keep Pakistan engaged on two fronts — its eastern border with India and western border with Afghanistan.

He made these remarks in the context of the recently extended cease-fire between Pakistan and Afghanistan, and a backdrop of heightened tensions with India following a conflict in May.

Asif said that Indian agencies, in light of India’s defeat earlier in the year, are now shifting toward “propaganda warfare” and using the dual-front pressure tactic.

He emphasized that Pakistan, while seeking peaceful ties, would not ignore continued threats if cross-border terrorism persists, particularly from Afghan soil.

Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to continue the cease-fire and to establish a monitoring mechanism to manage violations and maintain border stability.
