“Karachi Weather: Hot and Humid, 40°C Forecast”

Karachi currently experiences sweltering and humid weather as sea breezes obstruct airflow. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts temperatures today to range between 38°C and 40°C, with humidity levels around 76%. The temperature could drop as low as 30.5°C. Yesterday, at 2 p.m., the city recorded a “feels like” temperature of 51°C.

Chief PMD meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz informed Geo News that Karachi will have scorching and humid weather for the next three days. During this period, obstructed sea winds will intensify the heat. Due to these high temperatures, health experts advise residents to avoid consuming food and drinks outdoors and to boil water before consumption. Using ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) mixed with water helps prevent salt deficiencies. Consuming foreign foods and beverages may lead to digestive issues, stressing the importance of sticking to familiar and safe food options.

Health experts encourage residents to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, especially from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m, when the sun is strongest and most dangerous. Health experts also recommend wearing light-colored, loose clothing and hats when outdoors. Protection against harmful UV rays can be achieved by using sunscreen and sunglasses. It is essential to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day to remain cool during Karachi’s hot weather conditions.
