On Monday, chief meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz ruled out the possibility of a heat wave in Karachi.

“There is no chance of heatwave in Karachi for now but the weather will remain hot for the next 10 days,” stated Sardar Sarfaraz. The chief meteorologist stated that the severity of the hot weather would be maintained due to the low high level of humidity.

He stated there is a sea wind blowing throughout the city, so there is no need to fear, adding that temperatures in Karachi would remain between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts that the country would witness three heatwaves in different cities during the next 25 days.

The presence of high pressure in the upper atmosphere will cause heatwave conditions in most regions of the nation, particularly Punjab and Sindh, beginning May 21 and intensifying from May 23 to 27, according to the statement.

Daytime temperatures in Sindh and Punjab are “likely to remain 4 to 6 degrees centigrade above normal” from May 21 to 23, and six to eight degrees Celsius from May 23 to 27.
