Karachi residents are facing a big disruption in their gas supply as a new pipeline is due to be linked to the old gas network.
The gas supply to Karachi will be cut off from 5 a.m. on July 28 until 5 a.m. on Monday, resulting in temporary closures in numerous districts of the city.
The disruption is caused by the addition of a 31-kilometer-long transmission pipeline with a 24-inch diameter to the overall gas system. This critical renovation seeks to strengthen the regional gas infrastructure and supplies.
The impacted regions include all blocks of:
– Surjani Town
– North Karachi
– Manghopir
– Qasba Colony
– Orangi Town
– North Nazimabad
– Federal B Area
– Gulberg
– Buffer Zone
– SITE area
– Baldia Town
– Etihad Town
– Mauripur
– Gulshan-e-Maimar
– Ahsanabad
– SITE Superhighway and surrounding areas
A gas company spokeswoman verified that gas supplies will be interrupted in these regions for the given time period. Residents and businesses in the impacted areas should take measures and make alternate plans to limit the effect of the temporary gas supply outage. – Supernews
