RAHIM YAR KHAN: A video has emerged showing Asma, a Karachi girl who went missing and then reappeared in Rahim Yar Khan, signing the “Nikkah Nama” (marriage contract).

The video shows the eighth-grade student and Abbas Town resident signing the marriage contract in a modest ceremony.

According to the Nikkah Khawan (Qazi), the girl married with her “consent” despite without having a national identity card (NIC) or a B-form.

He stated that the girl claimed to be 19 years old and was getting married of her own free will.

“I urged the girl to return to her residence. “She claimed that her mother wanted to sell her to an old man,” Nikkah Khawan stated. He stated that he had no touch with the girl or her husband following the Nikkah.

“The marriage took place at my residence, and the girl stated that she was 19 years old. The girl’s ID card number was not filled up on the Nikkah Nama.

A charge of kidnapping has been filed at the Sachal authorities Station in Karachi, and the authorities are investigating the circumstances behind the ‘forced’ marriage.

Previously, the story took a turn when rumors surfaced of her ‘forceful marriage’ in Rahim Yar Khan. According to Karachi police, the girl, identified Asma, reportedly put her age as 19 on the marriage certificate issued in Rahim Yar Khan, while her mother said her daughter’s age was between 14 and 15 years.

The girl’s mother revealed that the man who reportedly persuaded her daughter into marriage refuses to allow her speak with Asma in person or over the phone.
