Three fake police officials nabbed in Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh police on Tuesday launched an operation and claimed to have arrested three bogus police officials from Karachi’s Orangi Town.

According to the police spokeswoman, the three persons, Kamil, Sheeraz, and Rao Afnan, harassed residents by impersonating police officials while wearing uniforms.

During the operation, officers found a uniform, phony police cards, a mobile phone, and cash from the arrested suspects.

The police filed a case in the appropriate sections against the arrested persons.

Last year, during a search at Sabri Chowk in Karachi’s Mominabad area, police detained a fake police party of five people.

According to police sources, five fake officers were apprehended during the operation, including one who pretended to be a station house officer (SHO). The inmates were involved in several incidents of kidnapping and extortion.

The suspected culprits were apprehended while extorting and plundering local residents, according to authorities.

The arrested males are Ahsan Farooqui, Faizan, Shehbaz, Kashif, and Shahid. It was discovered that one of the gang members, Ahsan Farooqui, was acting as a station house officer.
