PTI Protest Shuts Schools in Rawalpindi, Islamabad

PTI Protest

PTI Protest Leads to Closure of Educational Institutions in Twin Cities. The ongoing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest has prompted authorities to shut all educational institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi tomorrow. The Islamabad Private Schools Association announced the closure, citing safety concerns amid the prevailing unrest.

The district administration is expected to issue a formal notification extending the closure to all schools and colleges in the federal capital. This precautionary measure aims to ensure the safety of students and staff, given the unpredictable situation and potential security risks.

Authorities have emphasized that the decision is vital to avoiding disturbances and protecting the educational community. The closure is also seen as a step toward maintaining peace and public order during the protest.

Earlier today, the twin cities were completely sealed as part of security measures for the PTI protest. Containers were placed on key routes, including Faizabad Flyover, Murree Road, and other major highways, disrupting traffic flow. Over 6,000 police personnel have been deployed across Rawalpindi, with raids resulting in the detention of more than 170 PTI activists.

Emergency protocols have been activated, with hospitals and rescue teams on high alert. Additionally, mobile internet services in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and nearby areas have been suspended to control the spread of protest-related updates.
