A three-story residential structure collapsed in Multan early Tuesday, killing nine people.
Senior government official Rizwan Qadeer claimed that rubble from the collapsed building fell on surrounding residences, injuring numerous people in Multan, a city in eastern Punjab province.
He stated that four family members were among the dead.
Building collapses are widespread in Pakistan, as many buildings are poorly built with low-cost materials and safety requirements are neglected to save money.
In June 2020, 22 people were killed when an apartment building fell in Karachi, the country’s biggest metropolis.
