Internet disruptions: On Thursday, citizens in numerous Pakistani cities experienced internet connectivity troubles, adding to previously reported service interruptions.

The disruption comes only a day after a group of internet service providers (ISPs) claimed that the government’s increased attempts to monitor internet traffic caused a large national delay in services.
According to the Wireless and Internet Service Providers Association of Pakistan (Wispap), internet speeds have dropped by 30 to 40% in recent weeks, and many enterprises are considering transferring to other countries.
Major internet platforms like as Facebook and WhatsApp have been severely impacted since last week, with users experiencing slowdowns and issues accessing messaging and social media programs.
Some users suspected that the problems were caused by the government’s installation of a firewall to monitor and control users.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) disputed that the problem was caused by a firewall. Dawn.com has again contacted the PTA but has yet to get a response.
According to Downdetector, an internet outage tracking website, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) was the most affected, with services from Zong, Nayatel, and Fiberlink also disrupted.
Downdetector indicated a substantial increase in reported PTCL service disruptions beginning approximately 12:30pm.
Most of the outages were recorded in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Islamabad, and Multan, among other places. – supernews.pk
