PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh has announced that the party’s public rally in Karachi has been postponed for May 5.
Haleem Adil Sheikh stated in a statement that the party’s political committee met and agreed to reschedule the public gathering. He stated that the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s public gathering will now take place next to Quaid-e-Azam’s tomb on May 5, rather than April 28.
The PTI Sindh president stated that his party had asked the Deputy Commissioner East to obtain permission for the meeting.
He stated that the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf filed a petition with the Sindh High Court after the government refused to issue a non-objection certificate. Haleem Adil Sheikh stated that their case is scheduled for a hearing on April 26.
“Hopefully, we will get permission from the SHC to hold a Jalsa (public gathering) in Karachi,” the PTI Sindh president stated.
He believes the Sindh administration is ‘afraid’ of the PTI’s popularity, which is why they have not received clearance from the provincial government.
The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf had called for a nationwide protest against election tampering and the theft of its mandate in the general elections.
