Rain and thunder are anticipated on the first day of Eid 2024

Eid 2024

As the country prepares to celebrate Eid 2024 in the coming days, the Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert forecasting rain and thunder in numerous areas of the upper regions, including Islamabad, on the first day of the Islamic holiday.

Dr Babar of the Meteorological Department has announced that a new series of showers is expected to begin across the nation on Friday.

According to his most recent estimates, rain and thunderstorms are likely in the higher areas, including Islamabad, on Wednesday. However, the weather is expected to remain dry and mildly hot on Thursday, bringing short reprieve before the arrival of heavy rain.

Dr. Babar has warned that a new round of heavy rain is predicted to hit the nation on Friday evening and last until Monday. Although this lengthy period of rainfall may result in clearing clouds in most locations, it also increases the potential of flooding and landslides in other areas.

The Meteorological Department’s statement explicitly notes the chance of heavy rain and thunder from April 13 to 15, particularly in Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, and Mansehra, as well as the possibility of floods along the Kabul River. Furthermore, heavy rainfall is expected to increase the risk of landslides in Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

In response to these projections, all institutions have been directed to stay on high alert in order to limit any hazards and safeguard the safety of citizens in impacted regions. Authorities are asked to take the required preparations and procedures to address any situations caused by bad weather conditions.
