On Wednesday, Pakistan and the Netherlands agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new collaboration possibilities in areas of mutual interest.
According to a press release from the finance ministry, Ambassador Henny de Vries has called on Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb to discuss subjects of mutual interest and deepen existing connections between Pakistan and the Netherlands.
The minister cordially greeted the ambassador and expressed gratitude for the two nations’ long-standing friendship and cooperation. He emphasized the significance of the bilateral partnership, which is based on shared values and a history of cooperation.
The conversation also focused on Pakistan’s structural changes to promote economic development and ensure budgetary sustainability.
The minister stated that Pakistan was interested in technology transfer and using the Netherlands’ experience in agricultural, dairy, and farm production, which would result in higher output and exports, considerably benefiting Pakistan’s economy.
Ambassador de Vries echoed the remarks, emphasizing the Netherlands’ commitment to expanding collaboration with Pakistan across all areas. She also praised the government’s efforts to overhaul key economic and financial sectors.
The ambassador also discussed the Netherlands’ pilot projects in Pakistan, which include fish production, safeguarding labour safety and environmental requirements in the textile industry, and water management initiatives in agriculture.
She reaffirmed the Netherlands’ commitment to advancing these efforts and extending collaboration in other areas of common interest.
