Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla, will join former President Donald Trump for election night events, a move seen as strengthening Musk’s support for Trump and sparking further discussion regarding the impact of X, previously referred to as Twitter, on the 2024 election.
According to three people familiar with his itinerary, Elon Musk will attend events at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla., including a small gathering where he and Trump will watch live election results.
Musk allegedly spent more than $119 million promoting Trump’s super PAC and conducted rallies on his behalf, including one in Pennsylvania. According to sources, the evening’s festivities include several meetings, with Trump likely to address a bigger crowd later at the Palm Beach Convention Center. Neither Musk’s nor Trump’s spokesmen returned asked for comment.
Democrats have raised concerns about Musk’s X leadership, fearing the platform could manipulate public opinion. In recent weeks, Musk has published raw vote data that suggests Trump has an early lead in crucial states such as Pennsylvania. He also doubts the trustworthiness of voting machines, adding to his warnings that this election is a “critical moment” for democracy.
Musk’s prominence and public support for Trump have made X a focal point in debates about election integrity. The internet magnate was set to organize a pro-Trump rally for his super PAC on Tuesday, but he postponed it.
