Zaka Ashraf, head of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Cricket Management Committee, has resigned barely two weeks before his extension was set to expire.
Zaka had led the CMC since July, and the government extended its term in November to February 4, but he resigned on Friday. He announced his resignation during a meeting of the CMC in Lahore.
During his turbulent tenure, the Pakistan squad struggled in the Asia Cup and World Cup, suffering a string of setbacks, including their fourth consecutive loss in the present T20 series in Christchurch, New Zealand.
