Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Monday announced the start of two new electric bus lines in Karachi following Eidul Fitr.

Addressing a news conference in Karachi, Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the Pakistan People’s Party government is working on fixing the province’s transportation challenges.

He stated that two additional routes of electric buses will be established in Karachi after Eid to assist passengers. The Sindh Minister also announced the commencement of additional bus services in the province following Eid.

Sharjeel Memon stated that a prepaid card service for People’s Bus Service would be available to commuters beginning April 18 for usage on the Green and Orange Line bus services.

Memon revealed plans to purchase 500 buses for the upcoming fiscal year, claiming that People’s Bus Service will be popular in all province cities like as Karachi, Hyderabad, and Larkana.

Earlier in January, then-caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar said that the government had added additional 80 buses to the People’s Bus Service fleet, including 30 hybrids and 50 electric cars.

According to a statement made by the Sindh CM House, the city’s fleet has grown to 300 buses, including 18 Pink Buses.
