KARACHI – Around 12,781 police personnel have been assigned to provide security for Eid-ul-Adha 2024 prayers around the city.
According to a Karachi Police official on Saturday, following the orders of Additional IGP Karachi Imran Yaqoob Minhas, the deployment comprises 5,600 officers and staff in the East Zone, 3,656 in the South Zone, and 3,525 in the West.
In addition, about 2,170 policemen and workers will be in charge of security at sacrificial animal hide collection stations.
Security has been tightened at all major retail malls, marketplaces, and other congested areas. The traffic police have also been directed to ensure that traffic flows smoothly around the city during Eid-ul-Azha.
