Marriyum Aurangzeb, head of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), said during a news conference in Islamabad on Saturday that if the Rawalpindi commissioner is unable to present proof to back up the charges, he should face repercussions.
Marriyum stated, “I am confident in disproving the Rawalpindi commissioner’s claims,” and expressed worry about outsider intervention undermining democracy, questioning the need for foreign engagement in national issues.
She emphasized the need of producing proof before appealing election results, citing the country’s current issues and the possible ramifications for all inhabitants.
Referring to the commissioner’s declaration on election results, Marriyum recommended the inclusion of his name on the Exit Control List (ECL) and cited the suspected distribution of fake Form 45 papers to foreign media.
