The victim, identified as Saadullah Malik, a former factory worker, was sitting with friends in Zaman Town Karachi when three armed robbers approached them, demanding valuables. Instead of complying, Saadullah chased the assailants and managed to catch one. Unfortunately, during the scuffle, one of the robbers opened fire, fatally wounding him.
Eyewitnesses stated that as the robbers attempted to escape, local residents intervened and apprehended one of them, recovering a 30-bore pistol. Police have launched a search operation to locate the remaining two suspects.
In a related incident last month, robbers shot and killed another young man in Korangi when he raised an alarm during a robbery attempt. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi Kamran Khan revealed that five robbers had entered a home to commit a crime. The victim, who was heading for Fajr prayers, confronted them and was fatally shot.
Following the incident, SSP Kamran Khan suspended the SHO of Zaman Town and the in-charge of the relevant checkpoint. Authorities are continuing investigations into both cases.
