Karachi witnessed a tragic crime as an online bike rider was shot dead near the C-Area Furniture Market in Qayyumabad. The victim, identified as Shahid from Ghotki, was transporting a passenger named Waqas when three unidentified attackers attempted to stop him.
According to police reports, Shahid tried to escape, prompting the assailants to open fire, killing him on the spot. Authorities suspect personal enmity as the motive since the attackers fled without taking his mobile phone or wallet, ruling out robbery.
Shahid, who worked for a popular ride-hailing service, was en route to Korangi when the fatal shooting occurred. This tragedy raises concerns about online bike riders’ safety in Karachi, with similar attacks happening in recent months.
