Karachi Inter-exam: College administrators seek rechecking

Karachi

Following the discovery of irregularities in the results of tests held by the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK), parents and college principals urged that copies be rechecked.

The reaction occurred when the Sindh caretaker government approved grace marks for the students after a three-member investigative team charged with looking into discrepancies in the results discovered many irregularities.

College leaders rejected the decision to give students grace marks and asked a review to ensure justice was served. It should be mentioned that the committee created by the Sindh interim Chief Minister disclosed in its report that the results of English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics were ‘tampered’.

Eight officers from Karachi’s intermediate board were deemed liable for the incident.

Former chairman Dr Saeedudin and Naseem Memon, among others, were held accountable for tampering with the results of Karachi inter examinations, and the Sindh government wrote a petition to the anti-corruption agency requesting the registration of prosecutions against those involved.
