Karachi airport increases surveillance with extra CCTV

Karachi

According to government sources, CCTV cameras were placed to boost security measures at Jinnah International Airport’s cargo terminal.

The surveillance covers the Cargo Terminal, ICI Terminal, and neighboring regions, ensuring thorough monitoring.

It is worth noting that several illegal persons were apprehended attempting to access the cargo terminal.

The decision to limit admittance for unauthorized individuals is intended to improve security and prevent potential theft or unlawful access.

Last year, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) gained control of advanced facial recognition cameras placed at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

The aviation authorities erected a control room at Karachi Airport to monitor passengers and visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week using a high-tech video system. The control room was turned over to the FIA immigration inspectors.

Modern cameras with an alert system will be activated after identifying the accused at the airport to prevent them from fleeing the country.
