Following a danger notice about a probable terror attack, various educational institutions in Islamabad were shuttered to avert a disaster.

According to sources, the outlawed group intended to carry out many ‘terror strikes’ against educational institutions in Islamabad, mainly schools and universities.

According to sources in the danger notice, female suicide bombers linked with the banned groups carried out the ‘terror acts’ between January 22 and January 24.

According to police authorities in a statement, security procedures in the capital are strong; nonetheless, electoral rallies and other gatherings in the federal capital should be approached with care.

Earlier in 2021, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) stated that a security high alert was issued across the nation due to a potential terror threat, and intelligence-based operations (IBOs) were being carried out in Punjab.

According to a statement from the CTD Punjab, a security high alert has been issued due to a suspected terrorist threat. The spokesman noted that IBOs are being conducted throughout Punjab, with 23 operations carried out in various districts during the previous seven days.

During the IBOs, 23 individuals were interviewed, and two well-known terrorists, Abdul Samad and Ikramullah Khan, were detained. Abdul Samad, an alleged terrorist, was captured in Sialkot, while Ikramullah Khan was nabbed in Nankana Sahib.

In 2023, Pakistan had 1,524 violence-related deaths and 1463 injuries from 789 terror incidents and counter-terror operations.
