Gwadar International Airport Operational on August 14

Gwadar International Airport

Gwadar International Airport will begin operations on August 14. A well-placed source in the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that the new Gwadar Airport will be open on August 14, with all preparations in place.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will carry out a modest launch of the airport, according to reports.
Based on CAA sources, the cost of the new Gwadar International Airport is Rs54.98 billion.

The proposed Gwadar Airport is 26 kilometers northeast of the present Gwadar Airport, and the Pakistani government has allocated 3,000 acres of land for construction. Like the new Islamabad Airport, Gwadar Airport is Pakistan’s second greenfield airport.
The airport will be able to handle a combination of ATR 72, Airbus (A-300), Boeing (B-737), and Boeing (B-747) for both domestic and international services.

Currently, just 4% of the operating part is unfinished. Other airport-related development projects will be completed by December 2025.

The New Gwadar International Airport will boost regional connectivity and drive economic growth, serving as a key infrastructure project for Pakistan’s growing aviation sector.     supernews
