Gas leakage incident, a Karachi police officer, his wife, and six of their children burned

KARACHI: A police officer, his wife, and six children received burn injuries in an explosion that happened in the residential sections of Karachi Central Jail owing to a gas leak.

The event occurred on Sunday morning in the residential parts of Karachi Central Jail, when an explosion caused by a gas leak resulted in a fire.

The blaze injured Head Constable Tariq, his wife, and their six children.

When police and emergency services learned of the tragedy, they hurried to the location. The fire department was able to contain the fire, and rescue agencies transported the injured to Civil Hospital’s burns section.

According to the police, the injured are being treated at Civil Hospital Burns Center, and the officer, his wife, and two children are in serious condition.

A gas explosion at a residence used to sell computer equipment online was previously reported in Karachi’s North Nazimabad district, killing one person.

According to rescue personnel, the explosion was caused by gas filling a residence, and the guy who died was identified as the house’s gatekeeper, whose body was transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
