Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister who is presently jailed, accused Army Chief General Asim Munir of personally causing the arrest of his wife, Bushra Bibi.

Bushra Bibi, 49, has been convicted of corruption and an unlawful marriage to Khan, 71. She is now jailed at their home in Bani Gala, Islamabad.

During a chat with media at Adiala Jail, Khan accused General Asim Munir of being complicit in his wife’s sentence. He said that the judge who convicted her had acknowledged to being forced into reaching the judgment.

Khan delivered a severe threat, saying, “If anything happens to my wife, I will not spare Asim Munir.” “I will expose his unconstitutional and illegal actions for as long as I live.”

Khan blasted the country’s current status, asserting a “law of the jungle” in which the powerful determine case results.

He highlighted the discrepancy in treatment, claiming that although proceedings against Nawaz Sharif are dropped at whim, he and his party are sentenced quickly.

Regarding the economy, Khan raised reservations about depending only on International Monetary Fund (IMF) loans, instead urging for investment to stabilize the economy. He stressed the importance of the rule of law in attracting investment and cited Saudi Arabia’s upcoming investment as a positive trend.

Khan also remarked on a recent incident between police and the army in Punjab, alleging that the officers were abused and compelled to apologize by people in charge.

He accused the PTI of being prevented from participating in by-elections and called for resistance to persecution, urging party members to preserve every vote.

As of now, the army has not replied to these severe charges.
