Citizens of Bahawalnagar reject propaganda against the Pakistan Army and Punjab Police

Punjab Police

On the occasion of Eid, among festivities across Pakistan, there have been allegations of some individuals propagating misleading and bad narratives about state institutions, notably following an event in Bahawalnagar two days prior.

Following the event, numerous identified and anonymous social media accounts have actively disseminated falsehoods aimed at discrediting the Pakistan Army and other governmental institutions.

Despite Punjab Police’s comments that the situation was soon addressed through a joint inquiry with the army, misinformation continues to circulate.

Residents of Bahawalnagar have come forward to refute these myths, stating that peace reigns in their region and criticizing anti-national groups’ efforts to stir division.

They thank both the Pakistan Army and the Punjab Police for their important efforts in maintaining security and stability.

Despite efforts to undermine governmental institutions, the Pakistani people’s tenacity and togetherness remain obvious. There has been a request for the government to take stringent steps to combat the dissemination of false information and protect the reputation of the country’s soldiers.
