Chicken Costs to Drop, Organization Tells Punjab Government: During a meeting with Minister of Livestock Ashiq Hussain and members of the Poultry Association, the organization promised to assess the chicken supply chain and pricing. They proposed several solutions to provide a framework for fixing prices.

During the meeting, attendees noted that prices had risen by up to Rs200 per kilogram over the past ten days. Delegates from the Poultry Association told the provincial minister of their issues and concerns.

Minister Ashiq Hussain pledged that valid concerns will be addressed on a priority. He highlighted that the Chief Minister wants prices decided in conjunction with all parties. The Poultry Association promised to lower the price of chicken to 600 rupees per kilogram within two days.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has raised concerns over the artificial rise in prices and has scheduled a conference to discuss the problem.

She directed the creation of a regulatory framework to set chicken prices and investigated the involvement of the appropriate authorities in the price increase. The Chief Minister emphasized that chicken is a popular food item, and any rise in its price is unsustainable.
