Bilawal encourages PTI members to back PPP in elections

Bilawal

On Sunday, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari called on PTI members to support his party in the forthcoming general election, pledging to “bury politics of revenge.”

“I have experienced the oppression of the PML-N, and I would never wish for any political party worker to endure such hardship,” he told a public assembly in Lahore, where his younger sister Aseefa was also present.

“I do not believe in politics of oppression,” he said.

The PPP leader emphasized that the next elections will be a struggle between the PML-N and the PPP, and he urged PTI workers to support the latter.

He insisted that imprisoning women from opposing parties was not considered politics.

“Those who profess to uphold the sanctity of the vote are currently engaging in political manoeuvres that betray their original ideology,” he remarked, referring to the PML-N.

Bilawal also offered an invitation to PML-N members, stating, “Come to me, and I will respect your vote and take care of you.”

He insisted on uniting the country by eliminating politics of division and hostility. “I respect everyone and believe in consensus,” he told the crowd.

The PPP leader claimed that seasoned politicians could not be trusted with the country’s leadership because they had consistently broken their pledges to the people.

Referring to his adversaries, the PPP leader stated, “They (older politicians) have taken turns to become prime minister.”

He further mentioned that the PPP was the only party to keep its commitments.

He urged the youth not to waste the “power of the vote,” highlighting the difficulties many young and competent people experience in finding work.

“Give me one chance, and I will provide you with a youth card, ensuring that you will not face difficulties in obtaining both jobs and training in modern technology,” he went on to say.

He claimed that closing 17 ministries will save the government Rs300 billion. He also stated that Rs1.5 trillion in subsidies, which are now provided to the wealthy, may be better spent if directed toward worthy citizens.

He asserted that under the PPP, the average man’s salary would be doubled, and that with the party in power, its objective of building three million dwellings could be met.

“I am aware of the difficulties faced by families due to politics of division and hatred, which have been detrimental to the country,” he went on to say. “I am committed to steering the country in a new direction,” he told reporters.

Following the gathering, Bilawal said on X (previously Twitter), “It is time to put a stop to the politics of retribution, separation, and hatred. It is time to adopt a fresh political approach.”

“On February 8, vote for the ‘arrow’ and choose a better tomorrow,” he went on to say.
