Yumna Zaidi, a dynamic performer who has dominated the theater industry for years, is about to make her cinematic debut with ‘Nayab’.
The trailer for ‘Nayab’ is already out, and the film will be released on January 26th, 2024. Yumna plays a female cricketer, and ‘Nayab’ will depict how she overcame all of life’s ups and downs to achieve her dream.
She will play the role of a cricket fan from Karachi who is subjected to societal pressure and a lack of options.
Yumna’s debut film, Nayab, and she has stated repeatedly that the engaging narrative drew her to the movie. She is returning with a meatier role as a female cricketer, and Nayab will illustrate how she will overcome all of life’s ups and downs to achieve her goals. Umair Nasir Ali directs the film, which stars Yumna Zaidi, Fawad Khan, Javed Sheikh, Usama Khan, Huma Nawab, Ehteshamuddin, Adnan Siddiqui, and Faryal Mehmood in a unique dance performance. The script was written by the celebrated partnership Ali Abbas Naqvi and Basit Naqvi, well known for their work on the film ‘Laal Kabootar’.
Yumna has already starred in numerous successful dramas, including ‘Sinf-e-Aahan’, ‘Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi’, ‘Bakhtawar’, and ‘Tere Bin’.
In a previous interview with Independent Urdu, Zaidi said that she had been offered numerous films before to Nayab, but she had declined and instead stayed on television. The “strong content” of Umair’s directing grabbed her heart. “It’s a great narrative that is significant. The entire crew is working hard to ensure that everything is done correctly. Now that we’ve picked fantastic content, we want to give it right so that the public likes it when they go to the movies.
She went on to say that she does not watch Pakistani cricket at all. “When you’re attempting to master an accent for a job or portray a tribe in a play, you have to work really hard to avoid stereotyping them. The same goes for this position. My my concentration and focus has been directed here. I want to do honor to this character, to this cricket-loving girl.”
When asked about her part, she described Nayab as a “daring” girl who has no boundaries when it comes to her devotion. “There are rivalries in the movie as well. One thing is certain: people will not only appreciate it, but also connect to my persona.
