KARACHI: The US Navy Ship USS INDIANAPOLIS, a Freedom Class Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), performed a sea practice with the Pakistan Navy on Thursday after arriving at Karachi Port.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), when the US Navy ship arrived in Karachi, it was met by top Pakistan Navy officers.
During the stay in Karachi, activities included professional engagement with PN authorities and the ship’s crew through table top discussions on current concerns, as well as a planning and coordination meeting for the combined sea exercise.
At sea, the Pakistan Navy Ship ALAMGIR, with an embarked helicopter, conducted a sea exercise with a visiting US Navy ship to improve interoperability between the two fleets.
The marine exercise sought to improve mutual professional abilities via cooperation and learning from each other’s experiences.
According to official policy, the Pakistan Navy has always made major contributions to maritime safety, security, and freedom of navigation.
In this regard, Pakistan Navy’s Regional Maritime Security Patrol and involvement in Coalition Maritime Forces operations since 2004 demonstrate the PN’s commitment to safe and secure waters for the sake of regional peace and stability.
