Karachi: Mustafa Amir was brutally kidnapped, tortured, and murdered, leading to the formation of a special investigation team to probe the case. Amir was abducted from Defence on January 6, taken to Balochistan, and later killed.
Karachi police chief Javed Alam Odho confirmed the formation of the committee in an official notification, as reported by Express News on Thursday.
DIG CIA Muqaddas Haider will lead the team, which includes:

- SSP Qais Khan
- SP Aleena Rajper
- SP Azhar Javed
Authorities are not only targeting the prime suspect, Armaghan, but also his accomplices and individuals linked to drug trafficking. The goal is to uncover and apprehend all those involved in the crime.
Court Extends Key Suspects’ Remand
- An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday extended the physical remand of Armaghan Qureshi and Shiraz for five more days.
- The court also ordered a medical examination of both suspects.
- During the hearing, Armaghan claimed he was tortured in custody and denied access to a washroom for ten days. He requested that he not be handed over for further interrogation.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has summoned top police officials to CM House for a detailed briefing on the investigation’s progress.
