Karachi train accident claimed the lives of a man and his 5-year-old son after they were struck by a speeding train while attempting to take a selfie on railway tracks. The tragic incident occurred in the Landhi area, where Jamil, a laborer, and his son Safiullah were capturing a photo unaware of an approaching train.

According to police reports, the duo was taking selfies and group photos when a fast-moving train came from behind, resulting in their deaths on the spot. Authorities later sent their bodies to their hometown of Jacobabad for burial. Their final selfies now serve as a heartbreaking reminder of the tragedy.

Despite numerous warnings about the dangers of trespassing on railway tracks, people continue to risk their lives for photos.  Local residents have called on Railways Police to enforce stronger safety measures and raise awareness to prevent future tragedies.

This tragic event follows another selfie-related train accident in Harappa village, Sahiwal. A speeding train struck 23-year-old Irfan while he tried to take a selfie on the tracks. The rescue team arrived quickly but couldn’t save him. Authorities later handed his body to his family after completing legal formalities.

These heartbreaking incidents serve as a grim reminder of the dangers of taking selfies on railway tracks. Authorities must prioritize safety awareness to prevent similar accidents and educate the public about the risks involved in such behavior.
