The blast occurred in Khuzdar, situated along the main highway connecting the provincial capital Quetta to Karachi, a significant port city in neighboring Sindh province. At this time, no group has come forward to claim responsibility for the explosion.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Arif Zarkon provided details, revealing that among the wounded were a woman and two police officers.
Baluchistan has long been a focal point for a simmering insurgency, with various factions advocating for independence from the central government in Islamabad. Despite governmental assertions of having subdued the insurgency, incidents of violence persist in the region.
