The European Union (EU) and its member states organized this year’s EuroVillage event on a larger scale, presenting their own cultures and honoring the relationship between Europe and Pakistan. The occurrence occurred on February 17.

This year’s event had the subject ‘Stronger Together – Sustainable Forever’, which emphasized the spirit of co-creating a sustainable future. The celebration celebrated the EU-Pakistan partnership for almost 60 years.

The event emphasized several major topics, including the EU and Pakistan’s joint collaboration in development, commerce and investment, culture, education, the environment, and a variety of other sectors.

H.E. Dr. Riina Kionka, Ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan, inaugurated the event with welcoming words, stating that “EuroVillage is a significant occasion for us. We value the human-to-human ties it provides. This year, we invite you to join us on our quest to co-create a more sustainable future. Europe aspires to be the first climate neutral continent, but it also wants to help its allies make the green transition. Pakistan is one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change. The EU is collaborating with Pakistan to overcome issues and ensure a sustainable future for all.”

This was the fifth edition of EuroVillage. Thousands of people from Islamabad and Rawalpindi attended the event to hear about European sustainability initiatives while also enjoying an afternoon of culture, music, and cuisine.

The event included interactive information displays from several EU member states, as well as games, quizzes, cuisine, and other activities that allowed guests to learn, participate, and connect.

Farhan Saeed and Quratulain Balouch, among other Pakistani performers, performed live during the event.
