ISLAMABAD, October 1, 2026 — Dry weather is expected across most parts of Pakistan during the next 12 hours, while temperatures are likely to remain high in the country’s plain areas, according to the latest weather forecast.
Dry Conditions to Prevail Across the Country
Most regions of Pakistan are expected to experience dry weather, with daytime heat continuing particularly in the plains. The latest forecast indicates no major widespread rainfall activity during the coming hours.
The Flood Forecasting Division also reported that mainly dry conditions are expected across most of the country, although isolated rain, wind and thunderstorms could occur in parts of northern areas.
Temperatures Recorded in Major Cities
Morning temperatures recorded on Thursday showed relatively mild conditions in several major cities. Islamabad recorded 19°C, Lahore 25°C, Karachi 27°C, Peshawar 22°C, Quetta 18°C, Gilgit 14°C, Murree 13°C, and Muzaffarabad 16°C.
The readings indicate a noticeable temperature variation between northern and southern parts of the country, with Karachi recording one of the warmer morning temperatures among the major cities.
Northern Areas May See Isolated Rain
While dry weather is expected over most areas, isolated weather activity remains possible in parts of the north. The latest flood forecast mentions the possibility of rain, strong winds and thunderstorms in Chitral, Ghizer and Gupis.
The forecast also indicates that a westerly weather system could affect northern parts of Pakistan around October 6 and 7, although no significant weather activity is expected across the country during the broader weekly outlook.

Weather Outlook for Kashmir
In the forecast for Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, dry conditions are expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla, while Jammu is likely to experience hot and dry weather.
Morning temperatures were recorded at 12°C in Srinagar and Anantnag, 22°C in Jammu, 3°C in Leh, 11°C in Pulwama and Shopian, and 13°C in Baramulla.
