KARACHI: Binance says its artificial intelligence-driven risk systems helped protect more than 8 million users and prevented approximately $4.6 billion in potential losses during the first half of 2026. The crypto exchange has expanded AI use across fraud prevention, security and compliance operations.
Binance Uses More Than 100 AI Models
Binance currently operates more than 100 AI models across its anti-fraud and anti-scam systems. The company said these models intercepted millions of scam and phishing attempts during H1 2026, while more than 42,000 malicious addresses were blacklisted.
The systems also generated more than 14,000 real-time risk warnings every day, allowing suspicious activity to be identified and assessed quickly.
AI Handles Most Real-Time Risk Decisions
According to Binance, AI models now make around 80% to 90% of real-time risk decisions across its fraud controls. Human analysts continue to review complex cases where additional judgment and investigation are required.
AI is also involved in around 45% of human review workflows, creating a system in which automated tools handle large-scale detection while specialists focus on higher-risk situations.
AI Protection Covers Multiple Areas
Binance has integrated AI into several parts of its platform, including identity verification, account security, payments and transaction monitoring.
The company said its AI-assisted KYC processes have achieved up to 100 times greater operational efficiency in specific workflows compared with manual processes. More than 24 AI initiatives have also been introduced across user onboarding, compliance and related operations.
Human Oversight Remains Important
Despite the increasing role of AI, Binance says human expertise remains essential. Analysts establish risk thresholds, investigate unusual cases and help retrain models when new fraud techniques emerge.
The company uses a combination of internally developed models and external AI technologies, while also testing its security systems against emerging attack methods.

Binance Strengthens Overall Account Security
Alongside AI-based monitoring, Binance operates an eight-layer account protection system that includes alerts, OTP verification, passkeys, facial recognition, forced logouts and controls on suspicious withdrawals.
The exchange also maintains the Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU), which Binance says holds approximately $1 billion and is designed as an emergency reserve for extreme security incidents.
